Once upon a time…The year was 1978. The idea was to offer live entertainment on off-nights in the Top Of The Town dance lounge at the Fanny Hill Supper Club. The show was Neil Simon's LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS.
A small group of determined, creative people started the four week rehearsal process. They borrowed costumes. They gathered props. They designed and constructed the set, keeping in mind that every Thursday night the set would have to be dismantled so the lounge could be made ready for the Friday and Saturday night dance crowds. Then on Sundays, the set would have to be re-assembled for an evening performance. It was a cool Sunday evening in late September. At 8:30, the house lights dimmed, the stage was lit, and the first performance of the then called Top Of The Town Dinner Theatre was under way. Then in 1980, as the popularity of disco started to fade, the dance lounge was converted to a full-time theatre and the name was changed to the Fanny Hill Dinner Theatre. Since then, we have grown to become one of the top motor coach attractions in the state of Wisconsin. Over the past twenty-six years, we have produced over 140 comedies and musicals and given nearly 7500 performances for just under a million people. Of the 300+ performers who have appeared at the Fanny Hill Dinner Theatre many have gone on to careers in television, the movies, Broadway, and other aspects of the entertainment business. So sit back and enjoy...you're in good hands!
